This is a herbal medicine brew that I learnt in my first year at uni and it has since been a staple in my house. Originally a cold and flew brew, it has now transformed into the congestion brew. All these ingredients are available from the supermarket. You can take daily as a preventative, use as a salad dressing (I have a friend who loves it this way) or use it to relieve symptoms. Enjoy x
1 tablespoon each of fresh finely chopped garlic, ginger, onion, horseradish and parsley.
1/4 teaspoon dried cayenne
150ml of naturally fermented apple cider vinegar
Pack all vegetables in a clean jar. Add the vinegar and store away in the pantry. Shake daily for 14 days (can be left up to four weeks for a stronger brew). Strain and bottle.
For prevention have 5ml a day, have before breakfast for extra digestive benefits.
For relief adults have 5ml four times daily, children 6-12 years 1-2ml four times daily.
